If you are purchasing a RTS Stage 1 Remap, EGR removal is included in the cost. This product is for EGR removal only.
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (EGR) is a control device designed to reduce emissions. They create a loop back from the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold to recirculate burnt gases. As the gases are constantly passing through, the soot causes a build up of carbon deposits around the valve, which can cause it to stick in position. An EGR valve that does not operate as it should due to carbon deposit build up can cause boost issues, huge reductions in power and poor fuel economy as well as total failure of the valve itself.
RTS provides a EGR delete service, reprogramming the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to effectively remove the EGR from the vehicle without any adverse effects such as check engine lights or limp mode. This not only eliminates the risk of expensive EGR related issues and failures, but also provides gains in engine performance and better fuel economy.
We provide reprogramming of the ECU so that the EGR will be kept closed at all times, which removes the need for fitment of a blanking plate.
Some vehicles do require the total removal of the EGR cooler and components and this will attract a further cost.
All remaps are performed in person by RTS and travel fees may apply for those customers outside of the Adelaide metro area.
Please note that your state or territory may have restrictions on vehicles with a modified anti pollution device being used on a public road.
